One of the country’s top gaming and betting companies, Betika, has pumped in K27 million to Southern Region Football Association(SRFA)  Division One League.

The sponsorship unveiling ceremony took place on Friday in Blantyre.

In his remarks, Betika’s representative, Gift Palavia said the company thought of sponsoring the league because they believe in developing football from the grassroots.

“The development of Football in the country comes from this league and if we promise it, we will help to bring about new talents for the goodness of our Football,” said Palavia.

On his part, SRFA chairperson Raphael Humba hailed Betika for the Sponsorship saying it will go a long way in helping some operations of the division one leage which was played without a sponsor last season, a thing which forced them to use a subvention of K15 million from FAM to support the league.

“This is a milestone for us and will help the league become more competitive this year. We are thankful for the sponsorship and we hope our partnership lasts longer. You’ve made the right choice to come to us and we’ll give you the platform needed.” Said Humba.

The latest sponsorship comes barely a week after Betika unveiled kit sponsorship for TNM Super League side Mzuzu City Hammers.

The company also bankrolls the annual Betika Sapitwa 4 Pre-season Bonanza, which prepares some top-flight league teams for new season.
