Prophet Shepherd Bushiri’s ECG-Jesus Nation Church has supported Malawi’s security agencies with money amounting to K4 million to cater for their weekend sports bonanza at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

National Pastor for the Church, Pastor Chisomo Manthalu handed over the dummy cheque on behalf of the church. In his speech he said the church’s core focuses on social, education and psychological needs of the society and building strong relationships with the government hence the gesture.

Representing the security agencies, Inspector Griffin Mphande from the Immigration Services, who is also chairing the Security Institutions Joint Sports Committee, says they are grateful for the financial support from the church.

Mphande reveals this will be a yearly event and has made the ECG their partners.
The agencies include MDF, Police, Immigration and Prison.

Youth and Sports Minister will be the guest of honour at the sports festival that runs from Saturday to Sunday.

The event dishes out volleyball, netball and football sporting disciplines.
