SHOCK and excitement filled Unyolo Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Ntcheu today as the Minister of Lands and Urban Development, Honourable Chimwemwe Chipungu, left his ministerial duties and stormed the pulpit to preach the Word of God.
Despite being one of the busiest Cabinet Ministers in the country, Hon. Chipungu humbled himself and delivered a powerful sermon titled *TRUST AND OBEY* based on *Proverbs 3:5-6* — _”Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”_
Clad in a sharp grey suit as seen in the photo, the Minister boldly declared to the congregation: “Bind up the testimony and seal the teaching. The Remnant is back!”
The church was packed to capacity. Congregants listened in awe as the Minister preached not politics, but salvation, urging Malawians to trust God in these trying times.
In an era where many leaders forget God after getting power, Hon. Chipungu has proved to be different. He has shown that true leadership is about fearing God.
A church elder at Unyolo said: “We have never seen this. A sitting Minister preaching like an ordained pastor. This is the kind of God-fearing leader Malawi needs. He did not preach about land, he preached about Heaven.”
Indeed, Honourable Chimwemwe Chipungu has set a new standard. He is a Minister in government, but also a Minister in the Kingdom of God.
