UTM President Dr. Dalitso Kabambe has arrived in Casablanca, Morocco, to rally behind the Malawi Scorchers ahead of their historic WAFCON final against Cameroon.
Kabambe said he travelled to Morocco because he could not sit at home and watch what could become one of the biggest moments in Malawi’s football history.
The UTM president said the Scorchers’ remarkable journey has filled Malawians with pride after reaching their first-ever WAFCON final.
He has joined thousands of supporters following the team’s campaign as Malawi prepares for a potentially historic night on the continental stage.

Kabambe praised the players for their determination and commitment throughout the tournament.
He said reaching the final demonstrates the progress made by the Scorchers and their ability to compete against some of Africa’s strongest teams.
However, Kabambe challenged the players not to settle for reaching the final, urging them to complete the mission by winning the trophy.
He encouraged the team to remain focused, disciplined and confident when they take on Cameroon.
Kabambe also called on Malawians to unite behind the national team and continue giving the players their full support.
He said the Scorchers have carried the Malawi flag with pride and now have an opportunity to write an even bigger chapter in the country’s football history.
“Let’s bring it home, Scorchers! Tiyeni tiyipatse moto tonse,” Kabambe said.
The Scorchers face Cameroon this evening in the WAFCON final, with Malawi hoping its historic campaign will end with the team lifting the continental trophy.
