Political activist Bon Kalindo, says tear -gasing former President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera in Lilongwe was not good in a country of democracy saying this demand condemnation in the strongest terms possible.
Kalindo said according to facts gathered, MCP was invited to the Kamuzu Day function but some other people in the MCP chose to hold a parallel remembrance day and they did not attend the main function for the reasons best explained by themselves.
He said MCP has a problem of not accepting defeat that they are out of government, the country has the new President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and as such they don’t want to respect Mutharika as President and some still think that Chakwera is still President of the country.

Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo has told all those that are complaining in the MCP including Dr. Lazarus Chakwera that the party did a lot of atrocities in Malawi – terrorizing and hacking innocent people, saying their time is over.
Kalindo said the pain which Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and MCP officials have suffered surrounded by a cloud of tear – gasses is the same other Malawians suffered during their time of running the country.
The Activist has claimed that he smelt a lot of tear – gases during his planned peaceful demonstrations and this is the same tear – gas they have suffered in Lilongwe with thanks to the change of government.
He has reminded the MCP and President Chakwera that during their time they fired tear – gases which turned the whole Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in a cloud of smoke and a number of newly born babies died.
” Today, the very same police you were using to fire tear -gasses to innocent people is the same that has tear – gassed you,” said Kalindo.
He said in the country there’s political intolerance urging all politicians be in government and opposition to sit down and map the way forward so that the country continues to be at peace.
Kalindo has reminded the MCP that Kamuzu Banda beside being the country’s founding President and MCP leader, he was a national asset blaming the MCP for holding a parallel remembrance Day to honour him saying the tear – gas they swallowed in Lilongwe is a lesson from a deliberate mistake.
