Kalindo worry with security for Adhoc committee members

By Vincent Gunde

Political activist Bon Kalindo, has expressed his grave concern over security for parliamentary adhoc committee members investigating circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others, advising government to provide one security for each of the members.

Kalindo said some other people are not sleeping well with this adhoc committee and there’s great need to tighten security for the committee’s chair Walter Nyamilandu Manda.

He has sent a special message to government, adhoc committee members, Parliament and Malawi Police Service (MPS) that he sees a life – threatening dream to Walter Nyamilandu Manda, that the country should not lose him at this critical time that all the Malawian eyes are on the investigations surrounding the tragic death of Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others.

Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo said he has seen money being splashed to some members of the adhoc committee saying the same money has gone to some activists, and some other people are busy composing songs to discredit the ongoing investigations.

Kalindo said the alleged plans of killing adhoc committee members should not be taken lightly saying this is what God has sent him to deliver the message that behind this adhoc committee, there’s an assassination attempt hence the call to government to provide them with security in as soon as yesterday.

He said God has revealed to him that within the Adhoc Committee, some members will resign pointing fingers at Nyamilandu accusing him of being biass and not ably handling the committee well.

” Take this message or not, you can call me all sorts of names including that of a mad man, but God has sent me to deliver the message of security to adhoc committee members,” said Kalindo.

He said he and many activists and Malawians at large have been calling for an independent, credible, and transparent committee comprising of people who are not politicians to investigate the death of Dr. Chilima and eight others, but this was defied by government opting for politicians to investigate fellow politicians.

The Activist said the fruits of politicians investigating fellow politicians is now bearing fruits that already the adhoc committee is receiving some criticisms with some others calling for a dissolution of the committee describing it as a waste of taxpayers money.

Kalindo said if the committee comprised of neutral people, there could have been no one complaining of biasness, and a waste of public resources, saying all eyes could have been on the conclusion and recommendations.

However, Kalindo said he could have loved that the investigations provide answers to million of questions Malawians have been raising surrounding the tragic death of Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others, but this will be impossible, some other people will do all of what they can to discredit the ongoing investigations.

In the audio clip, Kalindo said he stands with 100 poor Malawians that have been supplying agricultural produces to Umodzi Park in Lilongwe using bicycles and heads but the new management has given the contract to Indian who is charging transport to the agricultural produces being supplied.

Kalindo has also joined workers of Central Region Water Board (CRWB) who have gone four months without receiving salaries urging the Board to speed up paying them to cover for rentals and other payments.
