Malawi Netball Queens coach Peace Kalua has credited her players’ discipline and commitment after they produced a dominant 72-38 victory over Zambia at the African Netball Cup in Nairobi, Kenya, on Saturday.

Malawi Queens vs Zambia
Malawi made a strong start, taking control from the opening quarter and establishing a 19-6 lead.
The Queens continued to dictate the game in the second quarter, going into half-time with a 36-19 advantage.
The Queens maintained their intensity after the break, extending their lead to 53-28 by the end of the third quarter before completing the match with another strong performance in the final quarter.
Speaking after the match,Kalua said the convincing win is not a result of Zambia being an easy opponent, but rather the Queens’ ability to follow instructions and maintain their determination throughout the match.
She said the result reflects the players’ commitment to executing the game plan rather than any weakness from their opponents.
She praised the team for its hard work and discipline, saying the performance showed positive signs as they continue their campaign.
According to Kalua, the players’ commitment indicates that the Queens are moving in the right direction, but she cautioned them against becoming complacent after the big victory over Zambia.
She urged the Queens to remain focused and take the competition one match at a time as they seek to build on Saturday’s performance.
Malawi will return to action today when they face hosts Kenya in their second African Netball Cup match at 2pm.
