Former Information Minister and Dedza Mulunduni Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Kunkuyu has urged Parliament to allow Mwanza Central and Mulanje West MPs to testify before the ad-hoc committee investigating the June 10,2024 Chikangawa plane crash that claimed the lives of the former vice-president Saulos Chilima and eight others.
Kunkuyu has made the request in a statement addressed to Speaker of Parliament Sameer Suleman, arguing that people who may have relevant information should be given an opportunity to appear before the committee.
He says excluding potential witnesses will prevent the inquiry from accessing information that may help answer outstanding questions surrounding the crash.

Kunkuyu has also referred to an earlier indication by Speaker Suleman that the Mwanza Central MP,Felix Njawala should temporarily relinquish his position on the committee to enable him to testify.
The request comes as the parliamentary inquiry continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, which has attracted considerable public attention.
