Malawi’s respect has returned. Foreign investors are flocking back to Malawi after President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s comeback, and experts say Malawians are blessed to have such a President.
According to Malawi Freedom Network and Prime Business Africa, President Mutharika told investors while in South Africa that Malawi is now open for business.
He declared, “The honeymoon of looting is over. Government is not a feast. It is about service, discipline, and hard work. Malawi is now open for business.”
That one statement has changed everything.
Malawi Freedom Network reported that Finance Minister Hon. Joseph Mwanamvekha’s Washington breakthrough unlocked an initial 80 million dollars from the World Bank and another 100 million dollars under consideration after meeting global financial institutions.

The publication said, “Since his appointment by President Arthur Peter Mutharika, Mwanamvekha has been positioned as a central figure in recalibrating Malawi’s economic trajectory. His mandate has been clear: restore macroeconomic stability, rebuild investor confidence.”
A UK investor delegation leader, Lord Francis Maude, Minister of State for Trade and Investment, was quoted by Nyasa Times saying, “We appreciate the progress Malawi has made in reform initiatives especially those focusing on creating conducive investment for the private sector.”
Economics Association of Malawi President Dr. Bertha Bangara Chikadza said, “Investor confidence is back because President Mutharika brings discipline. Foreign Direct Investment is responding to policy clarity. This is leadership Malawians have been waiting for.”
Malawi Investment Forum sources confirm that Khato Civils, a Malawian company operating from South Africa, has already signed multi-million dollar deals with government after APM’s call.
An official from Khato Civils said, “We are coming home because APM has restored hope. Malawi under Mutharika is safe for investment.”
Prime Business Africa reported President Mutharika saying, “I will soon send a delegation to America to discuss the country’s prospects,” in a direct appeal to US President Donald Trump for investment after years of aid cuts.
A governance expert from Mzuzu University said, “Under MCP, investors ran away. Under APM, investors are running back. In October alone, investor inquiries tripled. That is why I give APM 100 out of 100. Malawians are blessed to have a professor who understands the economy.”
Malawi Freedom Network further reported, “Malawi’s economy is beginning to register signs of recovery under the leadership of Arthur Peter Mutharika, with government officials pointing to renewed investor confidence and stabilizing macroeconomic indicators.”
Indeed, while others chased donors, APM chases investors. While others begged, APM builds. Malawi’s respect is back because APM is back.
