Man in custody for brutally killing wife in Chikwawa*

Police in Ngabu, Chikwawa are keeping in custody a 27-year-old Mkwate Chimbizi for allegedly brutally killing his wife over suspicion that she was having a love affair with another man.

According to South East Police Region spokesperson Edward Kabango, Chimbizi cut off his wife’s head, breasts and private parts.

“On 3 June, the two quarrelled and ended up fighting.



“The suspect took a stone and hit Luwiza on the head and she died on the spot,” said Kabango

Kabango added that the suspect then took a panga knife and cut off the head, the breasts and private parts.

Kabango claimed that the suspect later hid the head and the body at Chidima forest and threw the breasts and private parts in a toilet.

He was arrested on Thursday, 8th June and later led the officers to the forest where the head was found but the body is yet to be found.


The suspect comes from Vilamau Village while the deceased was from Maluwati Village, both under Traditional Authority(TA) Ngabu in Chikwawa.
