Police at City Mall in Lilongwe have arrested a 27-year-old Mozambican national, Brema Nkhoma, for allegedly stealing property valued at K7.5 million from his employer.
Nkhoma (suspect) was employed as a watchman and gardener at his employer’s apartment in area 9.
However, on June 21, 2026, after noticing that his employer was temporarily away, he stole four laptops, an iPhone, a Samsung mobile phone, a tablet, and various pieces of jewellery before fleeing to an unknown location.

Following a complaint from the victim, police launched investigations and tracked the suspect after he reportedly began using one of the stolen mobile phones.
The suspect was traced and arrested in Ntcheu on June 22, 2026 where he had been hiding.
Police also managed to recover all the stolen items.
Nkhoma, who hails from Chipudzi, Villa Velha in Mozambique, is expected to appear before court soon to answer a charge of Theft by Servant.
