Archbishop Thomas Msusa has urged Malawians to pray for President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, Vice President Dr.Jane Mayemu Ansah and Second Vice President Enoch Chihana to maintain unity and cooperation in leading the country.
Speaking at Chisitu Parish in Mulanje during the Archdiocese of Blantyre Catholic Women Association’s annual Umai wa Amai Maria celebration, Msusa said stronger collaboration among the country’s top leaders would be critical to addressing corruption and other challenges affecting national development.
He further appealed to Ansah, as she resumed her official duties, to convey to Mutharika that Malawians are watching how their leaders discharge their responsibilities and expect the three senior officials to place national interests above political differences.
Msusa said prayer, unity and accountable leadership should remain central to Malawi’s efforts to overcome corruption and socioeconomic difficulties, urging citizens to seek divine guidance for those entrusted with governing the country.
