“I am pleased to announce that Government has identified a 600-hectare estate in Mpherembe, Mzimba District, where the displaced Kasasile community will be relocated,” he added.

Minister Chipungu announced that the allocation of plots will take place from 5th to 10th October 2026, while vehicles will be provided from 26th to 30th October 2026 to facilitate the relocation.

“We expect the resettlement process to be completed by November 2026. I will personally visit the allocated site during the first week of November to assess the progress on the ground,” the Minister said.

He disclosed that Ministry officials have visited several estates in search of a suitable location for the community, including Kapilisisi, Zgabhika, Dobadoba, Mubangwe, and Katonthowolo Estates.

The Minister also urged the Kasasile community to continue working closely with the Ministry.

“I have urged the Kasasile community to continue working closely with my Ministry so that, together, we can achieve our common goal of ensuring a safe, orderly, and sustainable resettlement,” he said.

“Anyone who attempts to frustrate or unlawfully interfere with this process will face the full force of the law. Together, we will bring the Kasasile land saga to a lasting resolution,” he warned.
