Popular Nigerian actor Alex Ekubo has reportedly died at the age of 40 after battling kidney cancer, according to several media reports from Nigeria.
Ekubo was widely known among lovers of romantic films due to his calm style of acting and the chemistry he often displayed in love-themed movies that attracted millions of viewers across Africa.
The news of his death has shocked many fans on the continent, especially those who followed Nollywood productions where he played leading roles alongside some of the biggest names in the Nigerian film industry.

Apart from acting, many music lovers also recognized Ekubo from Nigerian singer Yemi Alade’s hit song Johnny, in which he appeared as the central male character in the famous music video.
