Married again: Information Minister Gospel Kazako weds

Information Minister Gospel Kazako on Monday tied the knot with his long time sweetheart Chikondi Moyo.

The wedding officiation ceremony of the two took at Lingadzi CCAP in Lilongwe and was officiated by Reverend Winston Kawale.

Vice President Saulos Chilima, cabinet ministers Richard Chimwendo Banda, Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda, Blessings Chinsinga and deputy cabinet minister John Bande, were among others notable people that attended the officiation ceremony.

Meanwhile a private wedding reception is expected to take place at Kumbali Lodge in the capital city and attendance is strictly by invitation.

Kazako was once married to late Flora Mkusankhoma who was working with state broadcaster-MBC but they divorced years before her death.

On the other hand, Chikondi was once married to Amos Beni but the two devorced in 2018.

Bullets dislodge Blue Eagles at the top of the TNM Super League

Nyasa Big Bullets took another step towards reclaiming the TNM Super League title as they struggled to beat Mafco FC 1-0 in a match that took place on Sunday at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

Precious Sambani’s goal was the only difference in the match that saw both sides creating a number of scoring opportunities in both halves.

Sambani scored in the 36th minute with a thunderous strike after receiving a pass from Patrick Mwaungulu.

Mafco almost equalised in the second half but Zikani Sichinga’s goal was controversially denied by the officiating personnel saying it did not cross the line.

The win means that Bullets are now level with Eagles on 13 points but the people’s team have a better goal difference.

In Kasungu, the match between TN Stars and Moyale Barracks ended in goals galore as the Lions of Kaning’ina snatched an away victory over the Kasungu-based side at Kasungu Stadium.

Alfred Chizinga scored a brace as China Chirwa scored the other goal for Stars while Moyale relied on Lloyd Njaliwa’s brace as well as Davie Msukwa and Robert Mphezi’s goals to get the maximum points.

Civil Service United and Karonga United played out to a 1-all draw at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

Arnold Masamba scored for the civil servants while Ramadhan Ntafu scored for Karonga United.

Ekwendeni Hammers were 2-1 winners at home against Rumphi United in a match that was played at Mzuzu Stadium.

Blessings Singini was on target for Ekwendeni and the second one was an own goal from Wally Gondwe. Wellington Mkandawire scored United’s consolation.

Wanderers beats Sable 3-1 to move to top four of the TNM Super League

Mighty Wanderers moved to fourth in the TNM Super League following their 3-1 win against Sable Farming at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday.

2 goals from Vincent Nyanguru and a goal from Yamikani Chester in the first half, were enough to give the Nomads the much needed three points.Taniel Mhango scored Sables’ consolation.

In Lilongwe, Gaddie Chirwa scored the only goal of the match to give Blue Eagles FC a 1-nil victory over Karonga United at Nankhaka Stadium. The win means the Area 30 side is back at the summit of the league with 13 points followed by Kamuzu Barracks and Nyasa Big Bullets.

Elsewhere, Wakawaka Tigers handed Red Lions a second successive defeat after beating the Zomba-based soldiers 2-1 at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre. Frank Chikufenji and Precious Chiudza were on target for Tigers while Royal Bokosi scored Red Lions’ only goal form the penalty spot.

In another match played on Saturday, Kamuzu Barracks beat Moyale Barracks 2-1 at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe. Former Moyale player Deus Nkutu was on target for KB alongside Zeliati Nkhoma while Charles Nkhoma pulled one back for the Kaning’ina Lions.

On Sunday, defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets will host the struggling Mafco FC at Kamuzu Stadium while Civil Service United host Karonga United at Civo Stadium.

Kasungu based side TN Stars will play Moyale Barracks at Kasungu Stadium as Ekwendeni Hammers host Rumphi United at Mzuzu Stadium.

Ndirande Anglican Voices to release seventh album “Paulo” this month end

Ndirande Anglican voices has announced that their much anticipated seventh album, _Paulo_ , will be released this month end.

The group’s music director Dennis Kalimbe, made the announcement last night during a performance at Mibawa Multipurpose Hall.

According to Kalimbe, the album was prepared some time back but the Covid-19 restrictions forced them to delay the release of the album

“The album is already prepared but we were waiting for government to ease the Covid-19 public gathering restrictions and now that we no longer have the restrictions, you should to get ready for _Paulo_ this month end”



Kalimbe further said the album will be unique as it is taking people through a journey from the group’s first album to the seventh album adding that the album is carrying a message of hope to the people who have lost hope and those that have lost their loved ones.

“We just want to encourage people who are going through some difficult times to stand still because God is in control over everything,” said Kalimbe.

The 18-member-group has so far released two songs namely ‘Usalisinthe Dzina Lako’ and ‘Paulo’ which people have been buying online.

The group which recently celebrated its 21-years of existence, came in the limelight in the early 2000s after the release of their first album ‘Ndasaina’.

The Blantyre-based-group has so far produced six successful albums namely _Ndasaina, Tiyeni Tonse, Mulungu Amatikondera, Ndasamba Mmanja, Zimandikwanira_ and _Namondwe Tonthola._

Manchester United Star Nemanja Matic to leave the club at the end of the season

Manchester United fans around the global have today been hit with the news that the club’s star Midfielder Nemanja Matic will leave the club at the end of the season.

In a statement posted on the club website Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has announced that he will leave the club at the end of the 2021/22 season.

The 33-year-old has made 183 appearances for the Reds since signing from Chelsea in 2017 and is now set to depart.

Matic announced his decision on Friday evening via his official Instagram account, where he wrote:

“After a great deal of thought, I have decided that this season will be my last with Manchester United. I have informed the board, the manager and the players of my decision.

“It has been a huge honour and a privilege to play for this great club. A big thank you to the fans for their unwavering support.

“I will now give everything until the end of the season to help my team-mates finish as strongly as possible.”

Thank you for all of your efforts over the last five seasons Nemanja and here’s to a strong finish to your time at United, over the coming weeks.
