CFT Movement donates food and Masks to Mchinji women

0

The country’s leading and trending political movement, the Citizens for Transformation (CFT) which is led by its Commander in Chief Timothy Mtambo, on Sunday took its charitable gesture to Mkanda in Mchinji District where the political organisation donated food items and masks to 100 Muslim women.

CFT Publicity Secretary Chimwemwe Maunde, who led the donation exercise in the district, said the political movement felt compelled to donate to the area due to devastating effects of the Covid-19 on the majority of the citizens, especially women.

“As CFT we decided to make such a donation because Malawians are facing hard times due to the pandemic. People in the villages, especially women are failing even to meet basic needs such as food in their homes,” she said.

Maunde said the CFT has lined up similar charitable activities in all the districts in the country, having already made the donations in Mzuzu, Chitipa, Karonga.

Maunde assured Malawians that CFT will be making donations without any discrimination based on religion, region, tribe, political affiliation, or any other status, adding CFT is an organisation for all Malawians.

“For us, being a Muslim or Christian is not a qualification for one to receive donation from CFT, we are treating all Malawians as equal and we know Covid-19 has affected everyone in the country. From here we are targeting the southern region with similar interventions.”

Maunde thanked AIM Foundation and other well wishers for contributing towards the donation and called upon well-meaning Malawians and others to join CFT in its charitable cause aimed at alleviating the negative impact of the Civid-19 among the underprivileged communities in the country.

Led by its Commander-in-Chief who is also a Minister of Civic Education and National Unity, Honourable Timothy Pagonachi Mtambo, CFT was formed earlier in the year to contribute towards a democratic, united and prosperous Malawi.
