The Final statistics from the Ministry of Health show that the country vaccinated 6,637,979 children under the age of 10 during the second phase of the polio vaccination campaign, surpassing its target of 6,236,521 children—representing 106 percent coverage.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Ministry attributed this achievement to the overwhelming response from parents and guardians, who turned out in large numbers to have their children vaccinated against polio.

The Ministry noted that the strong participation reflects growing public awareness of the importance of immunisation in protecting children from the disease.
The second phase of the polio vaccination campaign was conducted from 27 to 30 April 2026.
