Speaking after making the donation Ashley furniture Marketing and Communications Manager Lumuli Mwamondwe popularly known as Biggie Lu, said he was very much concerned after seeing that people in different parts of the country especially in the Lower Shire were badly affected by floods induced by tropical storm Ana.

“I was very much concerned about the loss of lives and the damages caused by the natural disaster and got in touch with Ashley Furniture bosses and other well wishers for disaster relief assistance. I am happy today that we are finally here reaching out to our friends,” said Mwamondwe

Mwamondwe then thanked individuals that showed support towards the initiative.

In January this year, heavy rainfall associated with strong winds caused havoc in the Lower Shire districts of Chikwawa and Nsanje where over ten villages were rendered destitute by the flooding rivers.
