Respect for Martse from President Chakwera as he takes time to visit and console the family

President Chakwera who has just arrived in the country from Equatorial Guinea where he went for the African Union Summit made it a priority to go an visit the family of the late rapper Martse to condole them on the untimely death of the youngster.

Accompanied by the First Lady, Monica, President Chakwera arrived at the Nkhata residence in Likuni, Lilongwe at 17:45pm on Sunday.

He was welcomed by Minister of Youth and Sports Richard Chimwendo Banda, Homeland Security Minister Jean Sendeza and other government officials.

Martse died on Monday, May 23 at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre after the house he was sleeping in, was gutted down by fire in Monkey Bay.

He had sustained serious multiple burns in the process.

Martse was laid to rest on Wednesday May 25 at Area 18 Cemetery in Lilongwe after an emotional farewell service at Civo Stadium
