One hundred girls at Nankhundi Primary School in Chiradzulu have received sanitary kits from SICPA Limited in an initiative aimed at promoting menstrual hygiene and reducing absenteeism among schoolgirls.

The donation was made under SICPA’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme, which focuses on health, education and environmental conservation, according to the company’s Logistics Manager, Chipulumutso Bakali.

The initiative was implemented in partnership with CAHESH, an organisation committed to improving menstrual health management and supporting the wellbeing of schoolgirls.

Apart from distributing sanitary supplies, CAHESH Executive Director Macdonald Kaluwa and his team conducted awareness sessions on cervical and breast cancer to equip the beneficiaries with essential health information.

Chief Education Officer Rashid Lawe commended SICPA and CAHESH for the intervention, saying access to menstrual hygiene materials would promote proper sanitation and help girls remain in school.

The initiative demonstrates the role of private sector and civil society partnerships in addressing menstrual health challenges and creating a supportive learning environment for girls.
