The Tobacco Commission(TC)’s nationwide field Know Your Grower (KYG) registration and licensing exercise for the 2026/2027 season is expected to close today October 17, 2026.
In a statement released yesterday October 16, 2026,TC spokesperson Telephorus Chigwenembe says the closure follows a high turnout of tobacco growers during the exercise.
However, Chigwenembe says registration will continue at the commission’s divisional offices in Lilongwe, Kasungu, Mzuzu and Limbe after the field exercise closes.
The exercise, which began on September 21, aims to promote compliance with tobacco industry regulations and improve the traceability of tobacco produced in Malawi.
