NTCHEU — United Democratic Front (UDF) leader Atupele Muluzi on Saturday, September 5, attended the Umhlangano wa Maseko V cultural celebration in Ntcheu District, joining thousands of people gathered to celebrate the heritage and traditions of the Maseko Ngoni people.
Muluzi attended the high-profile cultural event alongside his wife as celebrations reached their climax at the Gomani Chikuse Memorial Grounds.
His presence added to the list of prominent political leaders, traditional authorities and dignitaries who gathered for one of the most important cultural celebrations on the Ngoni calendar.
The Umhlangano wa Maseko V brought together members of the Maseko Ngoni community and visitors from different parts of Malawi to celebrate their shared identity, customs and cultural heritage.
The annual gathering also provides an important platform for preserving Ngoni traditions while strengthening unity among members of the community.
As a prominent figure in Malawi’s political landscape, Muluzi’s attendance attracted attention from people gathered at the ceremony, which featured traditional celebrations and cultural activities.
