Vice President Dr Jane Mayemu Ansah has held discussions with Miss International Africa Yollanda Chimbarami and Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2025 Lyshanda Moyas on using the creative industry and their public platforms to strengthen links between Malawi and Zimbabwe.
The meeting on Wednesday in Blantyre brought together Ansah and the two Zimbabwean beauty queens for talks on creative-sector cooperation, regional partnerships and initiatives supporting young people, according to the Office of the Vice President.
Chimbarami said their work had enabled them to develop a broad network across Africa, which they hope to leverage to establish stronger partnerships between the two countries.
The beauty queens highlighted their involvement in the creative sector and said they are seeking opportunities to expand cooperation between Malawi and Zimbabwe.

They also said they work closely with the Zimbabwean government on initiatives involving young girls and boys living with disabilities across the continent.
Ansah welcomed their initiative and commended the beauty queens for using their influence to promote causes benefiting young people and communities.
The Vice President described Chimbarami and Moyas as icons and leaders whose visibility gives them an opportunity to inspire young people and promote positive values in their respective countries.
The engagement ended with the presentation of Zimbabwean national fabric to Ansah. The gift was facilitated by Zimbabwe’s First Lady, Auxillia Mnangagwa.
