Vice President Dr Jane Ansah has called for greater respect for elderly people and persons with disabilities, expressing concern over the insults and humiliation they face and warning that such treatment undermines inclusive development.
She made the remarks during a community outreach organised by the Dr Jane Ansah Foundation (JAFO), which distributed food and seeds to vulnerable people.
The exercise reached elderly citizens, persons with albinism, people with short stature and individuals living with various disabilities.

Ansah emphasised that vulnerable members of society should be treated with dignity and included in development initiatives rather than being subjected to ridicule or discrimination.
She also encouraged beneficiaries to form groups and work collectively in their various activities, saying cooperation could help them improve their livelihoods and achieve greater economic progress.
The Vice President urged them to embrace unity and mutual support as practical ways of strengthening their efforts and creating opportunities for development.
The outreach combined the distribution of food and seeds with a broader appeal for respect, inclusion and collective empowerment of vulnerable communities.
