Barely few weeks after Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi paid a three-day visit to Malawi and had Bilateral talks with Malawi President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, now Zambia President Hakainde Hichilema is expected to undertake a one-day working visit to Malawi on Tuesday, December 7, 2021.

Announcing the visit to Malawi on his Facebook Wall, Hakainde said the visit is part of their President-to-President Diplomacy which has been been established recently for the two new heads of state.

“Zambia and Malawi share common values, culture and a rich history, dating back to before the Independence of both countries”, said Hakainde.

He said as Zambia’s Chief Marketing Officer, the two will discuss trade and matters of mutual interest between the two countries.

” It is important to open trade routes for our land-linked which will enable Zambians to sell their products and market them on our door step. This creates employment and earns the country foreign exchange which will help in economic stability”, he said.

In a statement, the Malawi’s foreign affairs ministry, says the full details of Hakainde’s visit to Malawi on Tuesday, will be announced later.
