Zambian Preacher Says Sees Divine Revival for Malawi Ahead of Elections

By Andrew Mwanandiye Tembo

Apostle Chileshe Shonga, a Zambian pastor and retired Detective Chief Inspector of the Zambian police, has shared a prophetic message with Malawians ahead of the general elections scheduled for September 16, 2025.

Shonga, who is affiliated with the Rahoboth Christian Church as a founder in Zambia, revealed that God has plans to revive Malawi through credible and peaceful elections.

Addressing journalists with the Pastors Peace Makers Fraternal (PPF), a group of Christian leaders promoting peace and leadership in Malawi, Shonga shared a vision she received from God.

“God is taking Malawi to another level of peace and solidarity, and this is fully connected to what will happen during the pending tripartite elections this September,” she said.

Shonga emphasized the need for Malawians to pray for peaceful elections, citing biblical references from Psalms 84:9, Hebrews 12:9, and Job 14:7 to 9.

The Zambian pastor also stressed the importance of respecting and praying for political leaders.

“Let us not forget to pray for our government and all political leaders for them to prioritize God in their work”she said.

Shonga commended the PPF under the leadership of Bishop Joshua Jere for their efforts in promoting peace and ministering to citizens in Malawi.

PPF Secretary General Bishop Esnart Chafulumira welcomed Shonga’s visit, describing it as timely ahead of the elections.

“This will serve as an eye-opener to all citizens to vote wisely and pray hard for good results and peaceful elections,” Chafulumira said.

The PPF has been a vocal advocate for peace and harmony in Malawi, and Shonga’s message is seen as a call to action for Malawians to seek God’s guidance in the upcoming elections.
