Lilongwe Police crack down on Area 25 attackers

The Lilongwe Police have made significant progress in investigating the series of tragic deaths and attacks in Area 25, arresting three suspects in connection with the crimes.

National Police Spokesperson, Peter Kalaya, confirmed the arrests of Dyson Sinedi, Adam Tsoka, and Felix Magaleta over the weekend.

According to Kalaya, the trio confessed to carrying out the attacks with the intention of stealing from their victims.

The arrests were made after weeks of investigations, bringing relief to Area 25 residents and surrounding communities who had been living in fear.

The suspects’ backgrounds reveal a diverse geographical spread.

Dyson Sinedi, 28, hails from Kaumbata Village, Traditional Authority (TA) Kapeni in Blantyre. Adam Tsoka, 21, is from Tawi Village, TA Kaphuka in Dedza. Felix Magaleta, 26, is from Likwawa Village, TA Sitola in Machinga.

The police reported 13 cases of attacks, resulting in five deaths and numerous severe injuries between May and June this year.

The community’s safety concerns have been alleviated with the arrests, and the police are working to ensure justice is served.
