A political analyst in the country has strongly condemned UDF leader Atupele Muluzi for practicing babyish politics centered on insulting President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika instead of offering solutions to Malawians.
Atupele Muluzi made his baseless remarks yesterday during an interview on Zodiak Broadcasting Station where he questioned President Mutharika’s age and fitness for office, remarks that have been described as immature and a total sign of lack of political integrity.
Speaking to this publication, the analyst said Atupele has completely lost focus on UDF and is now dwelling on insulting the President because he has nothing to offer.
He said it is no wonder UDF is collapsing because its leader has abandoned party building and is busy attacking President Mutharika who was overwhelmingly voted by Malawians.
“Atupele Muluzi’s remarks are baseless and show lack of political integrity. He failed miserably in the 2025 elections. The people of Malawi spoke loudly and voted for President Mutharika with a landslide. There is no way Malawians will listen to what Atupele is saying,” said the analyst.
The analyst said the youth of this country have already realized that Atupele cannot give solutions and cannot even rule the country because he has nothing in his head.
He said Atupele is playing childish politics while President Mutharika is busy fixing the country.
He further advised Atupele Muluzi to stop attacking the President who is only one year in government and instead wait for 2030 to contest if he wishes.
“Atupele should wait for 2030 to contest for the presidency, not attack the President just one year into government. Malawians are seeing progress,” he added.
The analyst said Malawians chose President Mutharika because they wanted real leadership and under his leadership things have already changed.
He pointed out that inflation is now at 20% from 38% under Chakwera, a clear sign that President Mutharika is a leader who understands the economy and is restoring hope in just one year.
He added that Atupele was rejected twice by his own constituency in Machinga and has no moral ground to question President Mutharika.
He said Atupele is just making noise to score cheap political points but in reality he is digging his own political grave and burying UDF with him.
Meanwhile, Malawians across the country continue to praise President Mutharika for demonstrating good governance, maturity and restoring hope in just one year of leadership, while Atupele Muluzi is seen as a failed politician who lost direction.
