De Sousa writes a book on sex, infidelity

Malawian poet, author and publisher Admar R.A. De Sousa has written a new book titled ‘The Code of Sex & Infidelity’ which examines the emotional, psychological and spiritual effects of unfaithfulness in relationships while offering what he describes as a biblical path to healing and restoration.

The book was officially released on July 8, 2026 through Mabukuonline and is available as a digital edition for MK50,000.

The books’s hardcover edition is also available directly through the author’s publishing house, IWritePro-Ink – Premium Publications, for MK85,000.

Speaking in an interview 247 Malawi News, De Sousa said the book challenges the belief that infidelity can be justified, arguing that cheating has devastating consequences not only for couples but also for families and society.

“The main message of this book is that cheating, whether by men or women has no valid excuse and carries devastating consequences. It affects not just the couple but everyone around them,” he said.

According to De Sousa, the book explores what he believes are the spiritual, emotional and psychological dimensions of infidelity, including topics such as soul ties, lust and spiritual warfare.

He said it also discusses factors he believes contribute to infidelity among both men and women and presents biblical teachings on healing, forgiveness and healthy relationships.

The author described the publication as a guide to freedom  and a call to spiritual awakening, self-awareness and the restoration of healthy relationships rooted in God’s design.

He said his motivation to write the book came from a painful personal experience of betrayal, which he believes eventually became a source of spiritual inspiration.

“I realised that my personal pain was not just a tragedy but a divine assignment to expose hidden truths about infidelity, soul ties and the spiritual warfare that destroys relationships,” he said.

De Sousa said the ideas that form the foundation of the book emerged during periods of prayer and reflection following the experience, transforming what he described as brokenness into a message of hope and restoration.

He said beyond discussing infidelity, the book addresses themes such as forgiveness, recovery from emotional trauma, healthy relationships and Christian salvation.

Commenting on Malawi’s literary industry, De Sousa expressed optimism about its future despite what he described as limited appreciation for local writers.

“We have incredible stories, unique perspectives and powerful voices that deserve to be heard globally. I believe Malawi is on the cusp of a literary renaissance, and it is time for Malawian voices to take their rightful place on the world stage,” he said.

The author said readers of ‘The Code of Sex & Infidelity’ will gain insights into relationship dynamics, healing from emotional trauma, biblical teachings on sexuality and practical principles for building healthy relationships.

He added that his broader mission through IWritePro-Ink is to promote African storytelling while inspiring and mentoring aspiring writers across Malawi and beyond.

De Sousa, 36, began writing poetry in 2011 while studying at Kalibu Academy before venturing into novel writing in 2016 during his law studies at Parul University in India.

He is the founder of IWritePro-Ink – Premium Publications, an independent publishing house dedicated to helping aspiring authors transform manuscripts into published books.

Through the company, he has written and published several works across different genres, including ‘The Pit & The Pulpit’, ‘Children of the Lake’, ‘Shadow & Flame’ and ‘What We Survive’.
