Landlord Pakwao Concert heads to Bingu National Stadium

By Rahim Abdul

Malawian rapper Gwamba has announced that the much anticipated Landlord Pakwao Concert will be held at the Bingu National Stadium on August 1, 2026, setting the stage for what is expected to be one of the country’s biggest entertainment events of the year.

The artist, who is widely known for his hit song Mukadalitsa, said the decision to host the concert at the national stadium reflects the scale and ambition of the event.

According to Gwamba, the concert has grown beyond an ordinary local music show and now carries an international appeal that requires a venue capable of accommodating thousands of fans.

“It is an international show and it needs a venue that reflects how big the event is, hence Bingu National Stadium,” said the rapper while confirming the venue.

The announcement is expected to excite music lovers across Malawi, with many already anticipating a high profile production and a star studded lineup.

One of the major attractions at the event will be Nigerian musician Ruger, whose inclusion is likely to draw regional attention and boost interest among fans of African contemporary music.

Organisers have also indicated that several local artists will share the stage with the Nigerian star, although more names are yet to be officially unveiled.

The concert is also expected to provide a platform for cultural exchange, bringing together artists and fans from different backgrounds through music and live performances.
