Secretary to the Treasury Cliff Chiunda has confirmed the release of funding for loans targeting women, youth, and councillors.
In a statement, Chiunda said the Local Government Finance Committee will manage the councillors’ loans.
He added that the Malawi Enterprise Development Fund will be responsible for disbursing loans to youth and women.
However, Chiunda was unavailable to disclose the amount allocated to the two institutions in the current K10.978 trillion national budget.
