The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) has announced that this year’s Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) examinations for Form Two students have started smoothly across the country.
MANEB spokesperson Angela Kashitigu said the examinations commenced on Monday without any major challenges being reported from examination centres nationwide.
Kashitigu said the board has so far not received any reports of problems regarding the administration of the examinations.
She expressed confidence that the examinations will continue to run successfully, assuring the public that MANEB has put in place all necessary measures to ensure a smooth process.
Kashitigu further revealed that the board has already disbursed allowances to examination supervisors and invigilators who are overseeing the examinations.
According to her, the timely payment of allowances demonstrates MANEB’s commitment to supporting personnel responsible for managing the examinations.

She noted that ensuring the welfare of examination officials is crucial in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the examination process.
Meanwhile, education expert Victor Chikoti has commended MANEB for paying allowances to examination supervisors before the examinations began.
Chikoti said the move is likely to motivate the officials and enable them to carry out their duties professionally and effectively throughout the examination period.
He added that timely logistical and financial support for examination personnel plays a significant role in ensuring the successful administration of national examinations and maintaining public confidence in the education system.
