President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has snubbed his two vice presidents – Justice Dr. Jane Ansah SC RTD and Enoch Kamzingeni Chihana – by instead delegating Minister of Education Bright Msaka SC to represent him as guest of honour at the official unveiling ceremony of the late Dr. Saulosi Chilima’s mausoleum at Nsipe in Ntcheu, a decision that has drawn sharp criticism from activist Redson Munlo.
Munlo said he is disappointed that what started as a rumour has become true. He said both Vice Presidents Ansah and Chihana are senior to Bright Msaka SC in terms of government protocol, questioning Professor Mutharika what wrong Justice Dr. Jane Ansah has done for Malawians to know.
He said he finds no good reason for sending a minister to represent Mutharika when the two Vice Presidents are there, describing this as an insult to them and questioning the Maseko Ngoni what they are mourning.
Speaking through an audio clip, Munlo has reminded the Maseko Ngoni that Impi Dr. Saulosi Chilima walked in the same path Justice Dr. Jane Ansah SC is walking, claiming that the Ngoni watched this passing their eyes.
Munlo said the sufferings of Dr. Saulosi Chilima started while he was Vice President to Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and the DPP, claiming that the MCP of Dr. Lazarus Chakwera took over Chilima’s sufferings up to the time he was tragically killed in a plane crash at the Chikangawa forest on Monday, 10th June, 2024, along with eight others.
He has questioned Paramount Chief Gomani, Inkosi Ganya, Makwangwala, Champiti, Kwataine, and Kanduku: are they ready to see the same sufferings that went to Dr. Chilima be passed to Justice Dr. Jane Ansah SC RTD?
The activist said the Maseko Ngoni watched Biyeni’s sufferings; he was given all sorts of names such as Zeze and others, and today they are clapping hands to see Justice Dr. Jane Ansah given all sorts of names, reminding the Maseko Ngoni to defend and protect Justice Dr. Jane Ansah who is also their Impi.
“It is sad that the Maseko Ngoni have allowed each and every Vice President appointed from Ntcheu to be suffering; history is repeating itself,” said Munlo.
He has also questioned Mr. Bright Msaka SC: he is a lawyer, Justice Dr. Jane Ansah is a lawyer, and President Professor Mutharika is a lawyer – has he accepted to stand before Justice Dr. Jane Ansah SC at Nsipe in Ntcheu to insult a fellow lawyer in the profession?
The activist has reminded Msaka that Dr. Kondwani Nankhumwa was the most trusted one, and it came a time when Professor Mutharika was going outside the country, he was given the keys to run Malawi in place of Dr. Saulosi Chilima. He questioned Msaka: where is Nankhumwa today?
He said what the DPP knows is to use one and later dump him, saying today Msaka can be a weapon to cause Justice Dr. Jane Ansah’s sufferings, and tomorrow he will be nobody in politics as Nankhumwa is today.
Munlo has advised all the Maseko Ngoni chiefs that if Justice Dr. Jane Ansah SC is not standing today, they should not allow Msaka to stand; it is better for the unveiling ceremony of Dr. Chilima’s mausoleum to be presided over by Paramount Chief Gomani or any Impi of the Maseko Ngoni chiefs.
He has further advised Norman Paulosi Chisale that he is flying the Maseko Ngoni flag in Mutharika’s led government and Mutharika’s mother was from Ntcheu, and as such, both him and Professor Mutharika are one of them.
Munlo has finally advised the Maseko Ngoni chiefs not to allow one of them to be used by the government in power and thereafter dumped, reminding them that Ntcheu has been robbed of high-profile people in the names of Albert Muwalo, Focus Gwede, Dick Matenje, and Dr. Saulosi Chilima.
