Malawian hip-hop heavyweight Phyzix has officially released his latest album titled Mphungu, marking another milestone in his illustrious music career.
The artist, who also serves as Chairperson of the Musicians Union of Malawi (MUM) Southern Region Chapter, unveiled the 19-track project on Friday, describing it as one of his most refined and mature works to date.

Speaking about the album, Phyzix said Mphungu reflects his growth as an artist and showcases the creativity and experience he has accumulated over the years in the music industry.
He explained that the album carries powerful messages centered on relationships, personal growth and encouragement for young people facing different challenges in their daily lives.
According to the rapper, listeners should expect highquality production and well crafted songs that demonstrate his commitment to raising the standards of Malawian hip-hop music.
The album features collaborations with several notable artists, including Driemo, Daredevils, Home Grown Africa, David Kalilani and Hope Cizzle.
Music enthusiasts have already started streaming the project on various digital music platforms where it became available immediately after its release.
Phyzix remains one of Malawi’s most influential hip-hop artists, having built a reputation for producing socially conscious music while consistently promoting local talent.
The release of Mphungu comes at a time when the country’s music industry continues to experience significant growth, with artists increasingly embracing digital platforms to reach wider audiences.
With Mphungu becoming his 17th album, Phyzix has once again demonstrated his longevity and dedication to the music industry, reinforcing his position as one of Malawi’s most accomplished hip-hop musicians.
