Alot has been said , some have gone further to launch minute by minute attack on the Malawi Congress Party leadership through creation of negative narratives.
But wait a minute, MCP remains powerful force because so far all the paid up propaganda cannot withstand pace of development which the country is going through.
While some people are busy creating propaganda MCP is busy with development
On MCP relationship with the Catholic Bishops, MCP continues to enjoys cordial relationship with Catholic Church and its Bishops. President Chakwera leadership has met Catholic Bishops several times discussing issues of national developments. This narrative being peddled here is wrong.
Chakwera has engaged different groups including vendors from all markets.
On development agenda , MCP is busy with development agenda of this country and all is happening in order to stop MCP from carrying out its developmental agenda.
MCP is a party built on strong foundation and will never shake easily.

A group of armed men suspected to be thugs attacked the Maria Goretti Convent for the Sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary (SBVM) near Limbe Cathedral in Blantyre on Saturday. The attack left a security guard critically injured, and the nuns residing at the convent traumatized and in fear.
The severely injured guard is currently receiving treatment at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre, while the convent remains in a state of shock following the incident. Church officials at Limbe Cathedral and police at Limbe Police Station have confirmed the attack, which occurred around 2 a.m.
Reports indicate that over 20 men armed with pangas, machetes, stones, and clubs breached the perimeter fence of the compound that houses the convent and Maria Goretti Girls Primary School. The attackers engaged in a violent confrontation with security guards on duty as they attempted to break into the building where the sisters are housed. Despite their efforts, the guards managed to prevent the thugs from accessing the convent, though one guard sustained life-threatening injuries during the confrontation.
The convent is located just a short distance from the Limbe Cathedral, where Archbishop Thomas Luke Msusa delivered a controversial sermon on Christmas Eve. In the sermon, the Archbishop criticized the Chikangawa Commission of Inquiry report, drawing backlash from government sympathizers and supporters of the ruling MCP. Some individuals have allegedly issued threats against the Archbishop, raising suspicions about the motive behind the attack on the convent.
While the connection between the Archbishop’s remarks and the attack has not been established, the incident has raised concerns about the safety of religious leaders and institutions in Malawi. Archbishop Msusa does not reside at the priests’ house adjacent to the church but visits the parish occasionally.
This violent act has left priests and nuns at the headquarters of the Blantyre Archdiocese living in fear and uncertainty. The Catholic community has called for swift investigations and measures to ensure the safety and protection of religious figures and institutions.
The police are yet to confirm whether the attackers were affiliated with the ruling party, but the allegations have fueled tensions and debates about political violence in Malawi. Authorities have pledged to investigate the matter thoroughly and bring the perpetrators to justice.
This incident underscores the urgent need for Malawi to address growing concerns over insecurity and political violence, which continue to pose threats to the country’s peace and stability.
Nsipe Catholic Parish in Ntcheu became a place of collective mourning and reflection as hundreds gathered to honor the late Vice-President Saulos Chilima. Months after his untimely death in a tragic plane crash on June 10, the memorial mass united family members, political leaders, and the community in remembering a man whose life was defined by faith, leadership, and philanthropy.
Presiding over the mass, Father Athanasius Manyenga offered words of comfort and hope, urging attendees to emulate Dr. Chilima’s dedication to faith and service.
“The late Dr. Chilima had a strong faith in God. He was always present in church and devoted himself to charity. This is why he is deeply mourned by many,” said Father Manyenga in his homily.
The mass featured heartfelt prayers and hymns, reflecting the collective grief and admiration for a leader who left an indelible mark on Malawi.
Father Manyenga’s message underscored Chilima’s legacy as a devout Christian and compassionate leader. Throughout his life, Chilima demonstrated a commitment to helping others, which earned him the love and respect of many.
“Let us honor his memory by living holy lives and dedicating ourselves to the service of others, just as he did,” Father Manyenga added, inspiring those present to continue the work Chilima had started.
The event included a wreath-laying ceremony at Chilima’s gravesite. His widow, Mary Chilima, accompanied by their daughter Elizabeth, was the first to lay a wreath, followed by Inkosi ya Makosi Gomani V, UTM president Dalitso Kabambe, MP for Ntcheu Bwanje North Nancy Chaola Mdooko, and other family members and dignitaries.
The solemn procession symbolized the unity of family, community, and nation in mourning a leader whose impact transcended politics.
Speaking on behalf of the Chilima family, cousin Joshua Valera expressed heartfelt thanks to those who attended the memorial.
“From our hearts, we say thank you so much for honoring Dr. Chilima. May God be with you,” Valera said, emphasizing the comfort drawn from the collective support and prayers.
Saulos Chilima’s tragic passing left a void in Malawi’s leadership and public life. His unwavering commitment to faith, philanthropy, and national progress remains a beacon of hope for many.
The memorial mass served not only as a moment of mourning but also as a celebration of his life and the values he championed. His faith, generosity, and dedication to service continue to inspire Malawians to strive for greatness and compassion in their own lives.
As Father Manyenga concluded, “The greatest tribute we can pay to the late Dr. Chilima is to live lives of purpose, faith, and service. Let us honor his legacy by continuing the journey he began.”
The event at Nsipe Parish was a testament to the profound impact Chilima had on the nation and a reminder that his legacy will endure in the hearts of those he touched.
A Concerned citizen of Malawi Bantu Saunders Jumah, has expressed his grave concern over Malawi Government and stakeholders silence over the ongoing unrest in Mozambique which have displaced thousands and others are fleeing into Malawi.
Jumah said the unrest in Mozambique is greatly impacting Malawi reminding Malawians that the country hosted Mozambican refugees at Luwani Camp in Mwanza district fleeing the country from a 16 –year civil war in that country which started in 1975.
Angry opposition youth blocking roads with stones in Mozambique’s ongoing unrest
The Mozambican conflicts are following disputed elections which the Smartmatic machine has done its damage, over 2000 Mozambicans have fled their country into Malawi and these people are lacking food and other items to support them in their daily life situations.
Areas of Traditional Authorities Mbenje, Mlolo and Tengani in Nsanje district are receiving Mozambican refugees fleeing their country every day and these people are putting pressure on the already available resources with the host communities.
Speaking through a Revolutionary voice, Jumah said since the post-election conflicts started in Mozambique following the disputed October, 2024 elections, he has not heard anything the Malawi Government and stakeholders speaking out of the Mozambican conflicts.
Jumah said time is now for former presidents Dr. Bakili Muluzi, Madam Dr. Joyce Banda and Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to come together to meet President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to invite Daniel Chapo and Venancio Mondlane to come to Malawi for peace talks in the region.
He said this will also be the time to invite President Hakainde Hichilema (Zambia), Dr. Samir Suluhu Hassan (Tanzania) and former Mozambican President Felipe Nyusi to come to Malawi joining the host nation in finding the long lasting solution to end unrest in Mozambique.
“The Mozambican conflict is the conflict which is affecting Zambia, Tanzania and Malawi being neighboring countries, refugees are crossing borders fleeing the return to civil war in their country,” said Jumah.
On the issue of Lake Malawi which the Tanzanian government has claimed part of it, Jumah said Lake Malawi cannot be negotiated saying the whole lake belongs to Malawi, all the country’s previous presidents protected it wondering why today?
Jumah has appealed to President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera not to keep quiet on this sensitive issue saying as from 1872 the lake was wholly for Malawi and even former President of Tanzania Benjamin Mkapa came to Malawi on the same where he admitted that Lake Malawi is for Malawi.
