A 45-year-old Phalombe man identified as Wyson Sabola has killed himself after his wife refused him marrying a second wife.

According to Police, Wyson was found dead in the bush on Wednesday after he had gone missing for 24 hours.

“Sabola had been pushing his wife to allow him take a second wife but his wife never came to terms with his suggestion, a thing that angered him, hence the decision to commit suicide by drinking pesticides,” said Innocent Moses, Public Relations Officer for Phalombe Police Station.

His body was taken to Migowi Health Center where a postmortem was conducted and results showed that the deceased’s death was due to poison and the pesticides were discovered in his pocket.

Meanwhile police in Phalombe appeal to the general public to follow proper channels of resolving their grievances other than taking their own lives.

Sabola hailed from Helemani Village, Traditional Authority (TA)  Nyezerera in the district.
