By Rahim Abdul

A suspect involved in the shooting incident at the high profile White House Correspondents’ Dinner has been identified by police as Allen.

Authorities say the suspect is from Torrance, California and is believed to have been among guests staying at the Washington Hilton, the venue hosting the prestigious gathering of journalists, politicians and celebrities.

According to investigators, Allen’s presence at the hotel may have enabled him to access areas close to the event before the shooting incident unfolded, raising fresh concerns about internal security screening at major national functions.

Suspect apprehended

The shooting triggered panic at the venue, with security personnel and law enforcement officers swiftly moving in to contain the situation and secure all attendees.

In the immediate aftermath, Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance and other senior government officials were quickly evacuated from the scene as a precautionary measure.

Officials have since confirmed that the President, Vice President and all Cabinet members are safe and unharmed following the incident.

Police believe the suspect may have acted alone, though investigations are still ongoing to establish the motive behind the attack and whether there were any accomplices involved.

The annual dinner, known for bringing together key figures in politics and the media, was disrupted as security agencies took control of the situation and began detailed investigations.

Authorities are continuing to gather evidence and question witnesses with more information expected to be released as the case develops.

The incident has sparked renewed debate over security arrangements at major political events in the United States, particularly those attended by top national leaders.
