Two Years After His Passing, Hon. Susan Dossi MP Visits Father’s Grave

By Sarah Banda

Two years have passed since the death of Hon. Moses Dossi, a former Malawian government cabinet minister who served during the administration of former President His Excellency Dr. Bakili Muluzi.

Born in 1953, Dossi passed away on 18 April 2025. His daughter, Hon. Susan Dossi MP, recently visited his gravesite, where she paid an emotional tribute to the man she called her hero.

In a heartfelt message shared publicly, Hon. Susan Dossi wrote that 18th April 2024 still hurts deeply, adding that even after two years, she continues to miss her father dearly. She assured him that he shall forever remain her hero, and proudly noted that she successfully retained the parliamentary seat for Chikwamba West in the 2025 elections—the very constituency work he left for her. “Ntchito imene munandisiyila ku Chikwawa West ndinawinanso 2025,” she wrote, vowing to work hard to protect his legacy.

Before entering the rough-and-tumble of politics, Moses Dossi was a beloved voice in Malawian football, known for his sharp analysis and passionate commentary as a television and radio pundit. His ability to break down tactics and his unfiltered love for the beautiful game earned him a loyal following across the country.

That same charisma and directness later propelled him into public service, where he became a formidable cabinet minister under Dr. Bakili Muluzi. Colleagues remember him as a charismatic leader and a true man of the people who never lost his common touch, whether he was debating policy in the capital or discussing a weekend match in the villages. His legacy now continues through his daughter, Hon. Susan Dossi MP, who remains committed to carrying forward his vision and service to the nation. May he continue resting in peace.
