In a move aimed at making clean and reliable energy more accessible to Malawian households, Zuwa Energy has announced a 15 percent price reduction on its popular Kwacha 6 Solar System as part of a special promotion running throughout August and September 2026.
The portable solar solution, which can power six bulbs while charging mobile phones, has been reduced from MK508,900 to MK433,000.
The initiative is expected to benefit families, small businesses and individuals across both urban and rural communities who continue to face rising electricity costs and persistent power outages.
Speaking on the promotion, Zuwa Energy Chief Operating Officer Winston Ngwira said the company is responding to the growing demand for affordable and dependable energy solutions.
“Solar energy should not be a luxury; it is a necessity. We understand that many Malawians are feeling the pinch of rising living costs and the ongoing blackouts.
By reducing the price of the Kwacha 6, we are making clean energy more affordable for families who need it most, Ngwira said.
According to Ngwira, designed for convenience and portability, the Kwacha 6 Solar System provides lighting for up to six rooms while enabling users to charge essential devices such as mobile phones.
He added that the latest price reduction forms part of Zuwa Energy’s broader mission to expand access to affordable, sustainable energy solutions across Malawi.
By lowering the cost barrier to solar technology, the company hopes to empower more communities with clean energy while contributing to the country’s transition toward a greener and more resilient energy future.
