The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has confirmed that FDH Bank Premiership matches will go ahead today across all venues, brushing aside uncertainty that surrounded the competition’s kickoff.
This development comes barely a day after FDH Bank Plc announced a temporary suspension of its sponsorship, following confusion that disrupted the official launch of the league.

The setback was linked to disagreements over the use of Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre, which failed to host the scheduled opening fixture due to unresolved issues.
Despite the turbulence, SULOM General Secretary Williams Banda has assured the public that all planned matches will be fulfilled as scheduled.
According to Banda, the league cannot afford further delays, emphasizing the need to maintain momentum and restore confidence among fans and stakeholders.
Today’s fixtures will see Blue Eagles FC taking on Ekhaya FC at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
At Champion Stadium in Mponela, MAFCO FC will face Mitundu Baptist FC in what promises to be a competitive encounter.
In the Eastern Region, Red Lions FC are set to battle Creck Sporting Club at Zomba Stadium.
Meanwhile, in the capital Lilongwe, Masters Security FC will host Chitipa United FC at Bingu National Stadium. The decision to proceed with the matches signals SULOM’s determination to keep the league running, even as discussions continue behind the scenes to resolve the sponsorship impasse.
Football followers across the country will now be watching closely to see how the situation unfolds, particularly whether the sponsor will return and how authorities will handle stadium related disputes moving forward.
