UTM has disclosed that preparations for the memorial ceremony of its former leader and Malawi’s former Vice President, Saulos Klaus Chilima, are at an advanced stage.
In an interview with AfricaBrief on Tuesday , the party’s spokesperson, Felix Njawala, said the organizers of the event are working around the clock to ensure that the ceremony is successful.

According to Njawala, UTM will remember Chilima as a leader who brought transformation to both the party and the country.
The memorial ceremony is expected to take place on Saturday at Nsipe Ground in Ntcheu District.
Chilima and eight others died on 10 June, 2024, in a plane crash at Chikangawa.
