“My proven track record in government affairs makes me the ideal candidate to lead our nation forward,” he said.

He added that ADD is the first party to receive a certificate from the National Planning Commission(NPC).

This, he described as a testament to the party’s vision and commitment to Malawi’s future.

Chilumpha indicated that his party has solid plans to develop Malawi without considering ethnicity or political lineage.

“This administration promised people Canaan, but they don’t know how to reach it. I can assure you, I know the way to Canaan,”he challenged.

Commenting on the re-opened 17-year old treason case by the government, Dr. Chilumpha said he believes in God.

Born on November 29, 1959 Chilumpha is a Malawian politician who was Vice-President of Malawi from June 2004 to May 2009.

Later, under President Joyce Banda administration, he was appointed Minister of Energy and Mining in April 2012.
