Flames goalkeeper Brighton Munthali to be out for three weeks

Preliminary findings show that Flames goalkeeper Brighton Munthali has torn ligaments in the thigh and could be sidelined for the next three weeks.

Munthali was taken to the hospital where he was treated as an out patient following an injury he sustained when Malawi hosted Guinea in Afcon qualifiers on Saturday.

Flames was leading 1-nil by the time Munthali was taken out but the match ended 2-all at the end of the regulation time.

The goalkeeper will undergo further assessment upon return to his Club, Black Leopards in South Africa.
