A concerned citizen and a patriot for Malawi who is also Revolutionary leader of Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) Bantu Saunders Jumah, has praised the DPP led government of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for making a commitment to implement previous and abandoned projects left by other governments.
Jumah said Second Vice President Enoch Kamzingeni Chihana made the commitment in Kasungu at the Kamuzu Academy during the CCAP Livingstonia Synod Annual General Assembly, describing this as a good gesture for Malawi to move forward.
He said one of the factors that is making the country poor is abandoning projects left by previous governments to new ones initiated by the current government.
Speaking through the Revolutionary voice, Jumah said Malawi is at the crossroads for the third liberation of the country observing that 62 years of the country’s independence, has made the country and its citizens to be poor while politicians becoming billionaires over a night.
Jumah said Malawi is a nation without clear direction, it is like a ship travelling without a compass – a country with a lost political journey which started way back in 1964 with the cabinet crisis where people had to flee the country fearing of being killed by Kamuzu Banda.
He said governments in Malawi inherits a machinery of politics without a political philosophy, advising politicians in Malawi to have a clear national vision for them to become political conscious patriot.
The concerned citizen said from 1994 to 2025 the country has witnessed no tangible development projects saying if there are projects are those of the funded ones by UNICEF, UNDP, WHO, and JAICA.
He has called for rebuilding of institutions that are transparent and impossible to be bought by the highest bidders on land who can even corrupt the President and his ministers.
Jumah has lamented that the country has only 300 megawatts of electricity for the entire population saying the country is far much behind Rwanda and Burundi which their energy is above 1000 megawatts.
He said Malawi need citizens who are awake, young people with brilliant ideas not politicians who chooses to work with middlemen to be stealing from government coffers.
“We need to build a new political foundation, new leaders must rise, poor , patriotic and brilliant young people must lead the country,” said Jumah.
He said Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) is the poorest in the country, it has no one from the bush to finance it, they only have brains, courage, ideas and patriotism saying they are refusing to accept that Malawi must remain poor forever.
The Revolutionary leader said MRP visions Malawi of over 5000 megawatts of electricity, national airline (Air Malawi not Ethiopian Airways), bullet trains advising Malawians not to continue repairing the same broken system, they have to build a new Malawi.
