In fulfilment of His Excellency President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s directive to distribute the Nantipwiri Parm Valley land to affected people, government has officially commenced the allocation of land to 401 beneficiaries from the areas of Traditional Authorities Bvumbwe and Kapeni in Thyolo and Blantyre districts respectively.
This is yet another clear proof that President Mutharika does not just talk, he delivers.
What the President directs, his government implements. What the President promises Malawians, it happens.
Today, Friday, 18th September 2026, Minister of Lands Honourable Chimwemwe Chipungu led the historic exercise to start the allocation process, demonstrating exceptional hard work, loyalty and commitment to the vision of President Mutharika.
Honourable Chipungu has once again proved that he is one of the most hardworking ministers in President Mutharika’s cabinet, a minister who walks the talk and translates the President’s vision into reality on the ground.
Speaking during the commencement ceremony, Honourable Chipungu strongly urged the beneficiaries to remain patient throughout the land distribution process, noting that land matters can sometimes be sensitive and may give rise to disputes.
He emphasized that it is important that the process is handled carefully, fairly and transparently to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries are treated equitably.
As a symbol of the commencement of the exercise, government has started by allocating 25 plots to beneficiaries, each measuring 35 metres by 35 metres and intended for agricultural purposes.
This exercise marks a very important step under the leadership of President Mutharika towards ensuring that affected people have access to land for agricultural production and improved livelihoods.
For years, these families waited, but today because Malawi has a listening President, their dreams have become a reality.
President Mutharika is showing Malawians that his government is a government of the people, a government that cares for the poor, a government that believes land belongs to Malawians and must benefit Malawians.
Under President Mutharika, land reforms are not just on paper, they are being implemented fairly and transparently.
Under President Mutharika, ministers work, they do not sleep in offices in Lilongwe.
Honourable Chipungu is on the ground in Thyolo and Blantyre ensuring that 401 families smile again.
Malawians in Thyolo and Blantyre have welcomed the exercise with excitement and have thanked President Mutharika for keeping his word and thanked Minister Chipungu for being a humble, hardworking and people-centred minister who fulfills the vision of the President without delay.
Government has assured Malawians that it remains committed to ensuring that the land allocation process is conducted in a fair, transparent and orderly manner for the benefit of all eligible beneficiaries.
This is the Mutharika touch. Promise made, promise delivered. Vision given, action taken.
